Thread regarding Barnes & Noble layoffs

Overtasked and understaffed

These are the company's death throes. They're just experimenting on how long they can keep the stores open with less than a skeleton crew. They've already decided to call it quits but they'll make sure to milk it for as long as they can. Unfortunately, some of us need the job so badly that we're willing to play along.

I have no idea where the store managers will end up, it's not like B&N on your resume is going to open doors.

They should end up broke and homeless like they did to many booksellers they “laid off”

Was going to post that -- this is Sears all over again.

When I left & put out resumes . Didn’t get a bite. Took Barnes off the resume, had my pick of what I wanted.Even reapplied to those who wouldn’t give me the time of day. They were suddenly interested. Proof positive that Barnes is laughable in the real business world.

Why can't you find a place that appreciates you and respects you? They're out there. Almost everyone from my store has left and everyone feels so much better and are much happier to be rid of the B&N h.ell.

Sears did the same thing. It's the current and future of retail.
