This could get hashed and rehashed over and over. The reality is that our stores are going to continue to go downhill until they reinvest in them. Spend the money on quality people give the hours to run the store efficiently and stop micromanaging store level managers to a point that’s crippling. Customers want that overwhelming Bed Bath and Beyond experience with a ton of people to help them. Until that happens it’s over.

Comments in WSJ article are brutal.
Sounds like it may have broken through finally.
Sad the stores are likely to continue being crushed as MT and company flail about trying to find traction.
With such a loss of talent at the store and DM level, will the stores be able to do much to change course? Major resets require depth of talent in the stores. Do they even have it at this point?
hey, don't worry everyone! after spending the last couple years slashing our inventory to 'declutter' our stores, because that's what the customer 'wanted'....now MT says in order to improve customer experience, we're gonna MAXIMIZE our inventory and selection........... ..............
so they spent the last 2 or 3 years screwing everything up even worse, and now trying to reverse course and fix their mistakes, and pretend it was the intention all along, lol

Read the article from the other day in WSJ and the many comments from readers who reiterate the same message: not enough choices of products in stores, no sales help, new owned brands products are poor quality.
They cut hours to improve 4th quarter results. We do it year after year. This year the cuts are massive. Why? Maybe because there were insider buying announcements made on 1/13. Why would the leadership be bullish on a underperforming stock and stores that are dropping sales in the double digits ? Because they can cut hours, show better results and then sell and make some easy money. “Work Happier”
Have any of these execs worked in a store? Any store?
Unfortunately they have taken away any reason for people to shop here. No selection, no customer service, nothing of quality in store to buy----we do have some nice graphics!
The reality is that they won’t do that. They aren’t cutting hours just because they want to, it’s because they can’t afford to run the business like they used to without operating at a loss.
As noted in other posts that type of service only insists in luxury stored and independent stores. Its not 2002 snymore
