Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Do they want an employee or a robot?

I am worried that I might lose my job because lately I have been constantly criticized that I should do more, better, faster. From my point of view, the criticism is completely unfounded, because I doubt that anyone else in my position could be much more productive.

How would you rate your own productivity? Does it ever happen to you that you become the target of criticism, even though you think that you are giving your best and that only a robot could do more?

They want a robot that follow the instructions like a donkey and work like a machine.

If you want to understand the true nature of this horrid organization, the following about sums it up. During a divisional meeting last year, the VP was asked by an employee about why the raises were so paltry, bonuses reserved only for higher management and praise rarely given. His response? “Well at least you may get a “smile” by email from Ramon.” So in his view - an auto generated emoji should substitute for adequate merit increases, personal praise for your work and general job satisfaction. Oh by the way, this same VP was canned a few months later. Wonder if they fired him with a “smile”. Folks, this is PepsiCo in a nutshell - all smiles on the outside and rotten to the core within. Run run run and don’t look back.

@svn+1f1XXrYb You mean the executives don't get fired. Everyone else gets fired regardless of performance.

I work in the West division of beverages. The SVP's here are bullies. The good news is they won't fire you. They bark really loud and if you can take it you can stay. Just smile and nod and pretend to work really hard and they will leave you alone and you can keep cashing the checks!

I’m working nights, 13 hour days to keep up with my workload. I’m still not getting done. I’m a veteran and know my job well. I believe I’m efficient. I have complained about workload, but I just get more work.

It's the tactic used to justify your PDR score and raise. So it doesn't come as a "surprise"
