Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Other people's performance does not interest me

I have been following this forum for a long time and I notice that most people are preoccupied with other people's performance, in the sense "I'm the only hard worker here, everyone else is lazy but still more valued than me". I don’t care at all how much work my coworkers do, because it doesn’t affect me in any way. Why even compare yourself to your coworkers? Don't blame the players, blame the game.

The bonus for top sales associates is true. The top performing associates who achieved one million or more in sales would receive a 5k bonus. This was announced at a store rally in October.
Knowing how unethical Macy’s is they will probably try to change the rules
Some of the associates in our store who were close to the goal were not being scheduled on weekends towards the end of the year so they would not reach their goal.
Just another one of Macy’s deceitful lies.

Bonus hah!! Macys needs to worry about staying afloat. Helping customers is a start I can’t tell you how many times I see a customer looking for help in a store. Management needs to address and distribute work more evenly. I know that’s a big ask instead of relying on a few really good people to do most of the work.

Preach!!!
Don’t blame the player blame the game!
Once you learn how to play the game it becomes such a better place to work.
Maybe if you worried about yourself and your own performance you’d be somewhere. That’s what the problem is at ALL locations, everyone is worried about what everyone else is doing.

The bonus payouts for top sellers does not make sense as more than half the stores are moving to a consolidated model. Just another one of the "ideas" by the lifers who are totally disconnected from what is actually going on in the fleet of stores because either a) they haven't worked in store's in decades or b) they're in Herald Square

The colleagues ringing at the register non-stop will get huge bonus payouts. Just wait an see, between $5,000.00 and $20,000.00. Don't worry the colleagues doing recovery and fitting rooms will get a callout on workproud.

Cuz it’s unfair when you are being asked to do all the work and others are just standing there ringing on the register all day and doing nothing. I work in the women department and when we were short people, I was recovering the floor, running back the fitting room rods and then asked to help out in fulfillment while others were just ringing on the register all day. Sometimes they even kicked me off the register to do the work. It’s not fair when only a few people are asked to do work and others nothing.
