Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Express is now taking Injury OT

So today in huddle, we discuss that Express is so in trouble they need injury help for the next 2 months. So not only do have have injury OT, we need CSs to do Express tasks. No talk about how SF is going to make the job experience better or raise pay to help with attrition.

I remember when OT was a thing you did as needed, or, got to choose to do when busy. Now OT isn't you showing up a few hours more per week, its two month long commitments, and after you decline the offer, they will just say its mandatory a week later anyway.

Its ok, these efforts will kick turnover into high gear. SF can lose even more desperately needed workers because they cannot meet the market clearing rate for labor and are short staffed due to it. Honestly I've not worked a single year for this company and not have just about every department far below adequate staffing, this isnt a new issue.

my area in claims not express is in the same boat, forced OT , never task time and training has to be done somehow but not on OT and not during regulars hours ... they just expect it to be done somehow.... all day phones non stop phones, their grand solution be quicker .... ahh nope doesnt work that way.

I heard Express has lost 2,000 people, and only have about 1,600 left.

They refuse to schedule express CAs to do their own tasks outside overtime. It's all phone phones phones all day and then they wonder why they can't retain people when it is a 600+ call queue all day. TMs used to be able to request CAs be on tasks if they had a sore throat or cough but now they can't because supposedly people abused it. Omicron is affecting everyone vaccinated or not but you will be shamed in claims for using your crisis leave and told "the expectation is you work if you can" especially since you can wfh. But they want you to send your kids to school and daycare and said they wouldn't offer any more exceptions to parents to manage remote learning. for awhile they allowed some parents task time during the day to manage it. they claim they are hiring but half the time there are no CA openings on the website. Can't wait for the trainwreck combo of express L and express U that will not solve anything except drive the wait times up and task queues up for both departments.

Every area is doing straight through processing and Integrations with " services" that lack integrity

Cha ching $$ for Management.

It's a big show at employees expense yet they get big pay and bonus

Ethics are not something SF or Illinois based insurance are good at. Too big to fail. Exploit who you can along the way

SF adds 2 million policies and does no hiring to handle the new policies, leadership tells use we are properly staffed. How is the senior leadership that made those decisions not reassigned out of those positions is crazy.

It’s not going to get better till the claims department collapses in flames or claims forces them to make it better by unionizing the workers.
