Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Don't do them any favors

Why the he-l are people still giving it their all at work? Some of you barely ever take a bathroom break and you're even proud of it? No. Give them what they deserve. Do your minimum. When they ask you to do more, say you're busy. Never stay overtime. Nobody will reward you for what you're doing, they'll only profit off of it. They're getting richer and you're getting nothing. Why do it?

We have people in receiving that still haven’t a clue where items go. How simple is it- hardside split into 2, 1- kitchen/ cookware 2- tabletops/candle/ frames for cages. U boats - 1-kitchen electrics/ cookware sets
Softside 1-bath hardware/ bath accessories 2-window treatments/ bedding sheets. U boat-bedding sets/ pillow/pads
Our store finds everything mixed from cages to U boats. It’s The I don’t care attitude in receiving.

i’m glad i’m not the only one that feels it’s all ridiculous

the worst part is how insulting it all is, like our receiving departments weren’t set up and haven’t been run to be as efficient as possible over the last 10, 20 years. oh no, only some brilliant corporate genius could figure that out for us brain dead in store workers

Maybe the tape is to help get ready for the big liquidation sale coming up!

Make sure after you take all that time to place your take outlines that you don’t work too fast that you accidentally damage the tape while working. Also, there is a zoom meeting next week to discuss placement direction for the trash can handles. Currently they are leaning towards a north/south placement direction, but the time studies have not been completed on the East/west placement so it will be decided next week. The important thing to remember is that we must be ready to change to the most efficient placement.

Is there any room to tape out a hopscotch outline since the company thinks there so much downtime for such mundane jobs!!!!!

But Richard, the new efficiency consultant, says it’s critical that the open topped, 33 gallon rubberized waste receptacle be placed in such a manner as to effectuate maximum minimums of work minutes per piece per second.

What a waste of time. Here stores are scrambling to try to prep for inventory on hours that make it impossible and they want receiving to do that? These people are so out of touch with reality that it’s just mind boggling.

all the 5s cr-p they're making us do in receiving, we have to put down tape to outline absolutely everything; where the delivered pallets are parked, where the pallet being worked is parked, where the table goes, where the garbage can goes, where every single conveyance goes. every single bin on every new worktable has to be meticulously labeled which supply goes in it. and it all has to be done because they require pictures sent every single week.

it's the most unnecessary and redundant thing i think they've ever had us do

still gonna do my job, but say for example, when they ask me to waste an hour taping squares in back so i "know" where to put the things i've been putting in those same places for over a decade, i'll happily put off another more urgent task
