Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Anyone in SFPP / SFBilling?

Hi. I work in billing. Specifically in SFBilling, which I was hired to do after being a decent performer in SFPP.

This modernization cr-p is the d-mbest sh-t SF has ever done. I have never had so many agents yelling at me on the daily — SFPP was a pretty chill gig. Now I’m screamed at daily by agent and agent staff. Some of it is righteous anger, some of it is just the fact that a lot of our agents are bullying di-kheads who can’t read or adapt to change at all.

I hate it here, and I never did before, waiting for that bonus then it’s deuces SF.

I used to work in SFPP from 2012 -2020. I started off on the phones for the first year and a half. My supervisor could tell me being on the phones was not the best with my OCD/bipolar disorder so put my name in the hat to join a team in SFPP that wasn't on the phones - Ledger and Listings. Rarely on L&L, we took calls to assist SFPP if the call volume was insane. But 99% of the time we were off the phones. We did a lot of work behind the scenes often coordinating with Finance & Underwriting when it comes to maintaining the department's suspense accounts, handling payment fraud or handling reports for all transactions occurring within the department. I loved it and learned so much. Before covid struck, I asked if I was able to work remotely permanently and take my role out of state. the highers ups said no and I ended up getting a job offer out of state so I put in my 2 weeks. Then a couple months later I found out they closed the LOC permanently and SFPP was working remotely permanently. I did miss it at times but I have a much better job that's not in a call center and I make a lot more money. I heard after I left SF started going downhill which is sad because our department made some huge improvements including with removing the dreaded T2 and offering more remote work days.

@1wi….You’re assuming we have anybody left to talk to. Unless you’re an agent who literally gets paraded up on stage, nobody listens to what we say anymore.

I don’t know but I can tell you that the company is incredibly inefficient in how it is run..these systems royally suck. And the head of the company is a narcissist.

Tipsord has made changes that will temporarily make the company look good on paper and provide him and other execs with a great bonus, but ultimately his processes and leadership will fail. State Farm leadership has a very bad habit and documented history of making bad decisions then reverting back.

@ktm You forget that employees are left with poor working situtations that are outside of their control. Instead of yelling at the front line worker that's trying to do the best that they can, why don't you go to your company contacts and tell them that the current model isn't working and put pressure on them to make the changes necessary for everyone to provide the best customer service that we each have the capability of doing under better circumstances.

Don’t stick around for the bonus. Plenty of companies will pay you more now. Employees forget EIP/MIP isn’t guaranteed every year and Tippy can cancel at any time for any reason he chooses.

There are d-mbasses in every department at State Farm. And agents, IF they are screaming at you, are doing it because customers are screaming at them. On of the frustrations out here is that we are left out of the loop on most things. We can’t control it, we are kept in the dark about what’s going on….yet every thing sent to a customer instructs them to “ contact your agent if you have questions”. They do….a lot. But we don’t have answers or even a place to turn for them anymore.
You forget that the people who are really upset are the customers. Agents and staff are the ones trying to deal with that.

I think alot of people are just waiting for the bonus then abandon ship. There are plenty of other opportunities out there. Yeah agents are d-mb fu--s as well as the staff. I'm not sure why they even exist anymore. I never even call my agent they do nothing for me. I'd rather save more on my insurance which is not the case right now. Hence why I'm switching to another insurance company. All those commercials they run about savings is B.S.
