The appliance nightmare is about to end for receivers. Central Warehouse Delivery is set to go online Q1 2022 in a Midwest Region. Only a dozen or so SKUs staged in the store. No more Pullers. No Del Coordinator. Probly the end for BE Clerk as automation takes over process. Big change for the better!

Spoken like a true mo--n who has no idea what the BE Clerk actually does every day.
BE Clerk unload trucks and work parcels? Not ours. The BE Supe freed from Delivery why not just transfer onto that position? BE Clerk is the last of the gravy positions. Max time in chair is their thing.
Last I checked BE Clerk does more than process. Hazmat, all rtm related issues,order grill parts, off, work all reports, double check automated receiving which often has mistakes, and regular receiving duties(unload trucks,ltl,FedEx ups)... Not going anywhere.
Receiving is going to Good Faith and processing is becoming automated. 3 clicks on the g-n processed. Why BE clerk and BE Supe who is relieved of deliv oversight?
We just went central delivery, xdt. It works great more room in the wearhouse. Backend clerks will stay . They have to have someone there to process paperwork. I will tell you that you will probably have to take on more responsibilities though

Last month two long time employees retired…….think they knew something the rest of us don’t?
No in-store position at Lowes is safe in the long term. One of the company’s governing philosophies is PPI, perpetual productivity improvement. That means they will ALWAYS be looking for ways to become leaner(less payroll expense) and more productive at the same time. That means trimming of store staff and more automation are both on the way. If you want a long career with the company at the store level, then you will have to continue to adapt and be willing to take on more responsibilities.
Code your puller in PUIS since that is who is supposed to be pulling anyway. We were a test store and you still need DC to make things work. BE clerk Is still in position but rumors are out there about going away since HD doesn’t have one in their structure.
