My opinion is that there is no effort to prevent a total debacle, closing stores and cutting employees. Aesthetic beautification of stores (and this is debatable as well) is not and should not be a strategy to prevent bbby from hitting the rock bottom. Is it possible that leadership and management are letting everything go with the flow?

Store managers can run the company?.I swear most if this board is on an acid trip.
thank you
Those that Govern from a far have no real idea how their business is being run. It is quite comical to see the posts mocking how a store team leader could not do a better job than than the corporate governors. The dms do not even know how to ring a register. Of course the store management teams could do better than the ones in the c suit. We know the business and have quite substantial back rounds in the industry. The governance have no idea what goes on in a store so they do not know what the needs of the business is. Top down approach always fails. The customer is already fleeing this business. Chapter 11 is on its way. Been here before with other retailers and it is the same ole song and dance.
It is obvious that many..if not most posters on here are very young and/or very immature But racist comments? SMH..whoever posted that and upvoted it REALLY shows how immature you are.
Did someone really say that working st the store level makes them more qualified then corporate. omg..that is hysterical.
I think the poster meant to say Guptas not Ruptas? Haha
wait, how is that possible? i thought no one from corporate looked at this stupid little board!! LOL
I work in the Corporate office and think that there are too many rent a Ruptas running around that get paid little and have no skin in the game. Another issue with having no strategy.
I agree, the Chief of Stores brings nothing to the table with regard to intelligent strategies.
Just here for the ride to the bottom.
If left to the Chief Clown of stores there is NO strategy for the Company except for personal gains.
Yes! This is 100% true and accurate. Most of the companies problems have nothing to do with Covid, they have been on a downward spiral for years. They failed to keep up with other retailers like Target. By doing the same old thing and relying on coupons to drive the business while cutting out customer service and selection in stores there is no reason for customers to shop in-store any longer.
our jobs being at the store level make us more qualified then a bunch of suits sitting in their home offices. we see the immediate and direct impact their decisions, or lack there of, have on the stores, the customers, the other employees. we have to deal with not having the hours to staff our stores, while being screamed at about conversion numbers, beyond plus sign ups, beyond stores. we have to deal with angry customers when everything they want is out of stock because our supply chain is garbage. we have to deal with angry customers when they get the wrong order/damaged or used order/no order, because fulfillment is a complete joke. not corporate.
What is your background? How many huge chains have you run? A lot goes on behind the scenes that you will never know about. I am not with corporate but it amuses me that some people on here do not understand this frustrations happens in many many places and their job is at the store level.
I think you are very correct about there being no real strategy. It is honestly like this is upper managements first rodeo. And I know there is a lot of negativity on this board but I think that comes from just the frustration of it all. Some of us have been with this company for many years and spent that time first trying to get good at what we do then growing our business. So to watch it be just stripped away by these horrific decisions they are making is maddening.
