The clowns masquerading as supervisors and team leads in IOL upstream should know this, it's an easy answer for them. I guess it's seasonal: low ego when they have to kiss up, high ego when they kick down.

Stop worrying about moving up in a company and focus more on a job that fulfill your interests. Time is finite, a company shouldnt dictate your self worth.

I asked Darren he said he’s cool with it, just be sure yours isn’t as big as his. Your ego, that is.

Is ego a euphemism? If so, then depends how big your “ego” is. An above average “ego” is good, but a freakishly large “ego”, makes everyone around it uncomfortable.
