Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Double pay, triple pay?

I am very interested under which conditions those who left would agree to return here. Maybe for twice the pay?

I finally got an offer and I don’t think I will ever want to come back here, under any circumstances. In addition, I think it will take me several months just to get some relief after everything I have experienced here in recent months. After almost a decade here, I now regret that I didn't start looking for new opportunities much earlier.

We outsource our manufacturing to the worst of the worst countries!
Why?
Because driving wages to the bottom takes less expertise, courage and grit than driving productivity to the heavens.
Any wimp can pit Thailand against Singapore for cheap labor… who has the backbone to start a new plant in Texas?
Nobody

Would never return to Emerson, but for all my hard working colleagues that remain, I would suggest a return of most outsourced manufacturing plants from India, China, and South America back to the U.S. I believe Emerson is poised to take advantage of Made In the USA better than it’s competitors. This might help the moral also.

Emerson will never change.
Those who could change it are under qualified and overpaid.
To them, change will ki-l the golden goose.

They could offer me all the money they want. I am never going back to that shithole.

I’m coming up on a year since I left and it was the best decision for my career. I worked in different teams for different business at Emerson. The problems weren’t unique to a specific team or region. The company is terrible from top to bottom.

Emerson will be a good place again once all the leadership is gone and it humbles itself to the new reality of a modern workforce and digital world.
