Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Irrational layoffs come at a cost

Now we can finally see and feel the consequences of Allstate's greed because of which they hurried to cut people they shouldn't have cut at all. I’m not happy about that happening, but it is some kind of karmic justice. Where are they going to find all the adjusters this company desperately needs now? It won't be easy.

There's many half truths/outright lies in your post.

  1. ) I've worked on the medical side of claims beforr. The only time outside doctors review an insurer's medical records are for independent medical examinations, which are carriednoutnin accordance with a state's laws. There is no state I know of that doesn't require the doctor or physician performing the examination to be licensed to practice in the state in which the examination occurs. Furthermore, these examinations are in person examinations, not virtual examinations, meaning the doctor would also need to reside in the US near the insured.
  1. ) In most (though not all) states, you need an adjuster license to adjust claims, and to do that you have to be a resident of the US or be located in the US with a work permit or visa. I'd be curious to know what states these people are allegedly being licensed for.

Yep. Licensing underway. They’ve even hired doctors in India to review medical records for evaluations, call center folks by the boat load, AI and email chat to fill the back load and many well spoken Indian personnel to take over. These jobs in the USA are going boy and they ain’t coming back. History is a teacher. They’ve already said goodbye in subtle ways with their year end speeches . Has anyone said 1 word about 2022 growth in the USA? Other than an attempt to back fill adjusters to relieve pressure on the half dead adjusters still here? Not a word. Why? Because there are no 2022 opportunities for growth in the USA. You gotta be really naive not to understand this. Go ahead, ask your leader and you will get a blank stare or an “I’ll get back to you on that” answer. Hang on if you want, but 2022 will be another year of mass exodus overseas.

You would think after 20+ years of offshoring and the drop in CX that comes with it, companies would start to realize this strategy is penny wise, pound foolish.

The scumbags already have licensing of adjusters that has been taking place and that is still taking place in India. I work in licensing and have had to assist with this. As long as India employees are considered to be an extension of U.S. departments they can be licensed for P&C, claims adjusting, and even in some cases legal. Allstate has these Indian employees as part of the U.S. operations so extension of U.S. licenses extends to them as any onshore employee. That is how that is done. Sadly my area has signed off on many Indian employees for licensing as adjusters and licensed service over the last several months and still doing it currently. The there was a pause in this from late 2020 to summer 2021 but has ramped upbig time since then in prepping for 2022 Transformative Growth moves to the two India centers of operation.
