SCX bosses told me one time that the unit I was working on had a water leak. Told me to pressure test it. I used the "Crews Hammer" and busted the water sight glass. Easy fix, water leak resolved!!!
Repaired in reality or just on paper or a computer screen, SCX still does it best. Some shops can’t even pencil whip a unit without having to fire a supervisor.
Exactly. And the Gang Leaders and GF encourage it. Sign it off and lett'er rip....I once took a locomotive up to the ready tracks that only loaded in the 1st notch. I was told by my boss that it wasn't my job to he concerned with it. So up the hill it went!!

The test line and the fuel track keeps SCX afloat. Very little work outside of T/M swap outs or NLP's. Other than that, not much going on here. We do however have a fork truck sliding glass door issue!

They're going to announce closing in January and jobs are going to go to Chattanooga and Bellevue.
Ive been at SCX for decades. Im on the skeleton crew that still works there. SCX has been closed for a couple of years now, you just don't know it because there was no official announcement.
SCX has not closed. Buy it's in their agenda. I'm guessing by July 2022...But I could be wrong. I have been at SCX for a number of years. It's all but done!!

SCX closed a long time ago. They just keep a skeleton crew around for road trips and light repairs.
