Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Nasty customers

Just a quick vent. Our customers think that it is ok to be nasty and belligerent. Yes we are out of a lot of merchandise. You can thank your elected officials and the pandemic on this but do not take it out on the poor 16 year old cashier. Then after their tirade they say that’s why you are going out of business. Retail workers are the most abused this time of year. We are all just trying to do our best.

We had a customer complete disrespect a supervisor for not returning something. DM decided to not only return it, but give her a $50 gift card on top of it. The company does not care about their employees in the slightest.

You do realize that the harbor commissioners that run the ports are appointed by elected officials, right? These were the people that had to be told by other elected officials to expand operating hours at the ports to increase capacity.

Elected officials in California pushed to pass AB5 (limiting independent contractor truck drivers) and new SMOG regulations that reduced the number of trucks that can operate in CA and the type of trucks they can use. This contributed to a truck driver shortage that partially contributed to to backlog at the ports. Most all imports flow through the ports on the west coast and the vast majority of those ports are in CA.

No one should be " nasty" as you put it but what does the age of the cashier have to do with anything? Many if not most teenagers are nasty online all the time. My experience with mist teenagers in the service industry is they do not know how to relate in real life. Just my two cents

Elected officials have NOTHING to do with supply chain issues. Elaborate on your theory

Elected officials mismanaged the supply chain and so that is why there are no goods to sell. Kind of like how this company is mismanaged and we have no future.

People who are nasty to customer service people are just nasty everywhere they go and are nasty year round. They are the ones with the problem. Don't let it affect you. You don't get paid enough.
