Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

In Office

https://www.centralillinoisproud.com/news/local-news/100-of-icu-beds-full-in-mclean-county/

Why is Bloomington in office when hospitals are filling up? Isn’t that the big indicator the self proclaimed geniuses running this train wreck are using for that determination?

I am afraid you are the only one making up numbers. There are only a handful of hospitals in the US that would come close to 100 ICU beds-NYC, LA, Miami and a few more . ICU beds represent 10%-12% of total beds. The one I visited had 25-30 beds all but 2 beds were Covid. Other 2 were cardiac. All the nurses but the one assigned to the 2 cardiac cases were in full hazmat like suits. Looked like a science fiction movie set. This was the only ICU unit in the hospital, no pediatric icu or burn icu units.

I am fully vaccinated, not a denier, etc….but those numbers make no sense.Assuming you visited a hospital with 100 ICU beds ( which would be a really enormous hospital) that means your relative was the ONLY non COVID patient. Of the other 99, 98 of them were unvaccinated and doomed to die.
This issue is serious enough without silly, made up numbers.

you got a folding table? i got nothing had to spend my own dime for desk
luckily i took my work chair with me last year while everyone else on my team did not want to bother, that is the only reason technically SF provided a chair because I gave them no choice.

Apple just told its employees WFH indefinitely. They were set to return in February, that is no longer the case. They also provided each employee $1,000 to outfit their remote office. State Farm offered us awkward folding tables.

The appeals court reinstated Biden’s mandatory vax requirement. Now up to Supreme Court to take and rule or pass and allow law to stand. This why SF is requiring people to come to office ( won’t be classified as remote and exempt from law.)

@iyi-I am quoting her nearly verbatim. Since I was the only visitor allowed on the floor(Covid patients are not allowed visitors) we had a lot of time to talk over my 4 hour stay. Please enlighten us with what you believe she said that was illegal? We will all await your response?

I highly doubt the nurse told you that. While I work at state farm I come from a family of health care workers and the nurse legally would not be able to disclose any of the information you say she told you

Wow, good to know! Just got my J&J booster this week to top off Pfizer x2. I don’t want to return to the hellholes because of the coworkers and TMs.

Actually I did. She said she could not say specifically for any individual patient (HIPPA rule) but percentage wise she said 99%of the Covid patients in ICU are unvaccinated. I also asked what percentage would likely improve and go home. She said zero. She also voluntarily shared how difficult it is to maintain staffing.

Did you ask if all the COVID patients were unvaxxed? Can’t cure stupid. Going into office is pointless. Careful painting those broad strokes.

The hospitals are full of the unvaccinated. I was literally in an ICU last evening visiting a family member with a failing heart. Almost every other room had a Covid patient, almost all on ventilators. Over 99% of the daily 1300 dying are unvaccinated. You just can’t cure stupid. Omicron will likely wipe out most of the unvaccinated.

Fake news. Need to overcome the irrational reasons to avoid in person meetings.

They are full in Phoenix/Tempe also. No compelling reason to put any of us and our families at greater risk by coming to the office now. At some point fine, but why now?
