Thread regarding 3M layoffs

Will our salary adjustment keep up with inflation?

Inflation is clearly > 6.0%. Have you heard anything about our regular compensation adjustment that's coming up in April? Can we expect that 3M will keep up with inflation? I would be very disappointed if it is just another 2%...

Yes indeed they should worry. Just look at the COC team. More than half resigned under current CEO watch. Talk about Advance 3M.

Humor (at 3M Center) is that leadership is concerned about talent retention and it is expected that they ensure salary stays competitive. It is said that >4% comp adjustment is more than likely. I hope for 5%....

...anything below 4% and I would be pretty disappointed.

I think a simple question is - in the past has a COL adjustment ever been provided that was this high?

This could be true if they had not "adjusted" the salary bands about two years ago. Because of that, now probably most are in the 90+ range anyway.

Heard they recently adjusted the lower band to 90% CR. So many people would have received a big increment.

you will take what is given by St Paul, just think you are lucky to have a job. Everyone thinks because Biden will make a hash of our countries economy, that you think you are entitled up to 6% payrise, get real, you are not the center of the universe,

So you expect a company with non existent organic growth, stock price in the gutters, quagmire of existing and future legal and financial liabilities and most importantly clueless top managers to provide a salary hike in line with > 6 % current inflation ????

We have good news folks, please don't worry about inflation. BLS (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) has reported, starting next month it will adjust the weights for its Consumer Price Index basket, which will be calculated "based on consumer expenditure data from 2019-2020." Alas, there is no further detail on this critical topic, although we will take any bet that post-revision reported inflation will drop because, well, "adjustments."

Merry X-mas and Happy New Year!
