Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

How many more people are needed?

I can only speak for my team, it would take twice as many people as there are now for everything to function optimally. Now it is more suffering than work. We try not to show much we are understaffed, but all in vain, it's still noticeable. How many new hires do you think are generally needed at SF?

People ate so stretched. As we see another wave of exits…oh my… i dont know how it will get done. Glad execs get incentive pay though. Good for them hitting the expense goals

Target merit increase is 3.5% as always. The info has been shared under the pay and comp site. It’s not private.

Why would anybody work for State Farm as a CA when they can go work in retail or fast food for the same pay but a lot less stress, accountability, and responsibility?
The pay bump a CS gets doesn’t even make it with it.

I can say that our area is down to 48% of the force, less than half , we would need to double our current work force just to be at 2019 or early 2020 staffing levels, but they wont because money...

Doesnt matter how many they hire when 50%+ are leaving every year. They keep focusing on hiring, and think an occasional email stating they care is all the employees need to turn that insane turnover rate around. Keep in mind, we are now seeing CA level work competing directly with retail and fast food jobs in regards to pay. CA's need to be treated as the future of the company and hiring standards need to return. CS's need to own manageable levels of inventory and they need to stop adding layers of duplication of work via new systems that are suppose to remove the thinking but now double the busy work.

The new SVP of claims-WH shared with leadership a few weeks back, when he was in Dallas ,that we needed to hire at least 3500 people and that does not include attrition which is running as high as 45% in some areas! Since staffing was not even close before the pandemic I say we need to hire at least 6000-7000K people! Claims has around 6500-7000K independents working in auto and fire claims! It is an absolute disaster that will never get better as you will never be able to hire that many people! OT as far as the eye can see! Employees are leaving and retiring faster than you can hire them! Nobody cares about this place anymore! It's a joke! I've been in leadership 20+ years and leaders at all levels are yelling as loud as they can. It's pointless! We are told to shut up, deal with it or leave.... and told this is the best year ever at SF!!!! They only advice I can give is leave or deal with it! It is not getting any better and they could care less what you or I think! Our only hope is the agent's are super fired up and if they apply enough pressure to Exec they might be able to run useless Tipsy and PS out! The replacement would probably be worse! I doubt it...but their schemes are catching up to them! It always does....eventually!

Whatever is needed, double that number. Half of them are going to quit when they see the reality of the State Farm claims world. After "training" of course
