Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Under the radar

I admire people who manage to work under the radar. They don't do sloppy work, nor do they work extra hard... they just achieved some fine balance and manage to work without a lot of stress here.

My manager is a fan of chaos and that is why unfortunately it's not easy to stay calm and simply work here until I find something else.

What I would most like to know is how do others manage to always stay under the radar?

Learn to say no and stay in your own area.
You asked to do special projects, OT, etc.? Say no.
Stop volunteering to help in other areas all the time. Worry about your own and yourself.
And stop going to managers all the time for reassurance and direction. Be independent.
Eventually you'll stop being bothered all the time.

I do what they pay me to do, have learned to avoid management without appearing to do so, seems like they've forgotten I'm there, which is good.

Yeap. Look busy. Push a cart with cardboard around and look up in top stock if you are looking for product to down stock. I was one that tried to do it all because I liked my job. I'm only a number and now I'm just here to get a paycheck. I know it seems wrong but Lowes made me like this. I guess all retail is the same. My first retail job and definitely my last one.

Pretty simple. Just do your weekly counts and tasks. Keep your dept clean and down-stocked. Most of all treat your workers with respect and you will get respect in return.
