WTAF was that yesterday? When I want advice about being happy, the last place I want to hear it from is Allstate or a writer for the Atlantic.
Allstate leadership has their heads so far up each other's as--s, it's unbelievable...

I didn't sign in to the Town Hall and just can't listen to one more corporate message. Fortunately, my immediate leader and team are great to work with and it helps drown out the fact that we simply cannot trust Home Office anymore.
Hundreds of employees claimed they like the last town hall…. Lmao.
Hundreds of people said they liked the Town Hall in the chat. But you bitter b!tch3s just can’t be anything but miserable.
It was so out of touch. We don’t need a Harvard person to tell us how to find our happiness and purpose. You need to root cause problem solve the entire culture of the organization and make real change. Allstate is not authentic, says one thing and does another. I don’t need to find happiness and purpose. My family gives me that. What I need is a normal work environment where business partners collaborate and Directors are held accountable for their behavior. It’s clear the person who read the employee survey came away with a far different solution than what most educated professionals would do. Employees want to see themselves more in the communication. Hey! Let’s throw a Harvard professional in there to talk to them about finding their purpose in a work environment that isn’t able to support what’s being presented. How can they not see the disconnect?
What is GymPass? I had never heard of it.
My two cents. Personally, I liked the town hall. I thought the professor had some interesting things to say and I enjoyed hearing from him. I can see the other side too, though — might not be everyone’s thing to change things up and do something new. To each his own.
I had to work an extra couple hour because I got behind listening to this garbage BS town hall meeting . Claims never end ! 12 hour days all day every day .
They are covering their butts here. The only reason they are even remotely addressing that their employees morale and happiness is in the toilet is because they don’t want to be sued. Having that kumbaya meeting is totally out of character for them. Tom is so plastic. He’s a pro He doesn't want to see.more people go out on stress leave, or sue for the hostile work environment he perpetuates. So throw a bone, pretend you care, and that way they can say they “did something” to address the problems of the peasants. He should apologize and be honest about the growth he is scheming in India. It’s hard to be happy at “work” when you’ are lied to and abused constantly. They owe for the damage they’ve caused. I smell another lawsuit coming.
I’m working on becoming the Angry Bird champion within my group (rolls eyes). Really Tom that’s your answer to improve morale GTFOH.
@qmi+1efjzSyZ OP is correct.
Id--t psychlogist ("why you waste your education ... Harvard who gives flying......).
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHHA.
Go away "Reputation Defender". Your posts are so evident in every post.
You waste bandwith but you did engender employee solidarity.
@qmi, your cheerleading enthusiasm has overtaken your perspective. The meeting took place yesterday and you say that they "they bring in a literal Harvard professor"? If it was yesterday, they brought in the professor. That said, glad to read that the professor was literal. For the money that Harvard charges, happy that the prof was not fictional. See there - I'm happy!
I just want to not dread going to work everyday and get paid well to do so. I don't want some snake oil presentation from some elitist that doesn't know what working for a living is like.
"...a literal Harvard professor..."
LOL!
What's it going to take to make you plebes happy?
It's all talk, until they actually raise pay and give out bonuses for good work and actually allow employees to have a work life balance people will still be unhappy.
If you didn’t get anything out of yesterdays call you need to blame yourself, not Allstate. Allstate listened to employee feedback about the calls not being about employees and they bring in a literal Harvard professor to talk about happiness and finding your purpose. If you didn’t take anything away from that call please leave the company.
