Working at Allstate is mentally draining, tedious, and agonizingly frustrating. It will make you hate your own life. If you know what's good for you, you'll stay away.

It does not matter what area you work in. The big blue ship is sinking. Inflated stock price is going back down to its normal value. Lmao. This sh-t show will be sold soon. Every possible position will be shipped to Pune… The writing is in the wall……
@hrb+1efCWHWt a majority of the folks on here complaining are claims or legal.
Being in tech @ Allstate, my role is not terrible other than the red tape to get projects completed and released. I was hired at a competitive wage, the raises have been underwhelming. I could get more of I started looking but I'm comfortable and actually like most of my team.
Not everything at Allstate is a dumpster fire. There are plenty though, and I feel for the groups that are.
Someone I know quit claims and now works in an Amazon warehouse. She’s so much happier! Treated with much more respect. Pay and benefits are decent too. And no screaming claimants day after day to come back to. Once she’s done she’s done.
Counterpoint: it's NOT just Claims and Legal. Draining, tedious, and agonizingly frustrating, plus "Allstate nice" are the culture.
Don't work for Allstate claims or legal. Other departments are less dramatic
I was fortunate enough to get out early 2021, the last year of employment was so bad that I became a zombie. Focused on completing mindless task after task, attempting to please and fulfill policyholder commitment all the while no support from supervision, constantly being watched and berated for not meeting goals. The business model had become uncontrolled chaos. Working days nights and weekends to keep head above water. I finally gave up, I surrendered, I was on the way to a mental collapse. I was a loyal committed employee for decades. Do not let them do this to you, good luck to all there must be better out there.
If you're already here, run.
