Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Does cheap workforce solve problems?

As far as I can see, cheap (or cheaper) labor solves absolutely no problems at Allstate other than temporarily masking them.

I'm leaving and I'm not interested in what will happen to this company anymore, but I believe that after a while Allstate will be in an even bigger trouble precisely because it tries to solve its problems with this shortcut, instead of systematically dealing with everything that's wrong here.

I have one foot out the door with the other following after 1/1. I agree that the company wants nothing more than rank and file Indians working for them at one third the cost and refuse to commit to hiring competent U.S. workers or promoting much from within. I’ve been with the company for 16 years and the first 10 were a whole lot better than the last 6.

Transformative Growth is made up of moving as much as they can to India. Period. Their game plan is and has been:

  1. Demoralize the workforce so much through mental abuse that a large number give up and quit due to stress, anxiety, and depression. Voluntarily leaves = no severance and in some states no unemployment. Hire temporary stop gaps for a year or two until it can all be shipped to India.
  1. Undercut industry standard salaries to force people out for other higher paying jobs. They don't care if it is to a competitor that you can end up helping as they have zero respect or beliefs in your talents. And again you leave on your own so no severance there either. Again shipping all to India.
  1. Buy up all the cut rate and mid tier companies they can to provide a false impression of market share earned. They flat out lie to their shareholders and employees saying market share increased based on their great Transformative Growth plan but in reality they took the easy way out by buying up like a cheap ho---r while doing nothing to fix their failed vision and processes.
  1. Play musical chairs with the same 3-4 failed business models rotating them every 6-12 months between the same 5-6 home office ivory tower hacks renaming it and presenting the same failed nonsense with shiny bows and giant fake smiles.

You're In Good Hands.....

They are banking on the fact the US based workers are only 25% of the workforce in India. They believe They can find equally talented people in India for pennies on the dollar because of the mass population there. It’s basic math. There are very bright people in India and Allstate will do almost anything to get that talent. USA Allstate is the past. They are so happy to see everyone leave.
