Is the only quality required from Lowe's managers to know how to yell at everybody around them? I swear, I've been here for three months and I'm yet to see a manager actually doing anything other than yell at other people. Even about the smallest, most mundane things. They are universally hated but they don't seem to care. I've never worked in a similar environment. It's unnerving, to say the least.

Just ram the carpet pole up their a-s. They’ll either quit or come back for more.
All the old school Mgrs are gone. Nothing but douche bag pricks now.
Here’s the deal, it used to be way more competitive to move up at Lowes. That’s all changed. They would rather promote less qualified low talent and pay them less, provide them with corporate checklists so they don’t have to think for themselves. They will eventually quit or get fired, then they will replace them with someone else who sucks and say “look at us, we promote from within” etc. The company loves young blank slates they can control.
Criteria to be a Lowes Manager:
- Kiss ash of Senior Management
- Be a former Sears or JC Penny Manager
- Be willing to fire anyone not willing to kiss ash of Senior Management
- Have no conscience or concern for the Human Race
I watched a DM scream at a Store Manager in front of employees. It was horrible, I reported it and still nothing was done. NOTHING! This behavior is taught from the top down. Nothing will change - this is company protocol.
All the good mangers either quit or got fired.

Yep and be glad you can understand some of them. Most of the new ones are barely literate and can only point and make grunting sounds. Welcome to the new lowes, get out while you can!!!
