Taking a day off

I have been working here for a long time and it is very, very rare for me to take a day off. Recently, taking a day off was important to me because my mother is sick and she really needed me.

I was on the verge of a nervous breakdown because I couldn't get a day off. I cried and felt helpless but SF doesn’t care about other people’s lives or other people’s feelings.

I hate this company and after this I will definitely give notice. I just wonder how many important things people had to miss in their lives just because they failed to get a single day off when they needed it?

I wonder how long this situation would go on if our leaders couldn’t take time off they wanted?

I was just thinking today how many important family and friend get-togethers I missed because of my second shift work schedule. It really made me sad in retrospect. I'm not an employee there anymore, thank God.

Quitting that company was a great decision. In hindsight, my time at the Farm was a complete waste. They retain and promote only 2 types of people: those who can think and can't learn, and those who can learn and can't think.

Dang you must work in Claims right? I am so sorry to hear about your Mother and definitely encourage you to start looking. There has to be better out there.

Just call off sick. What's the big deal?

As for the person who 'has to work holidays', either get someone to take the day for you or shut up and realize it's part of your job duties to, you know, fu----g work.

I’ve had to miss Thanksgiving and Christmas with my family because I couldn’t get any time off. But of course we have to be there for the customer so sc--w the workers.
