I am seeing this is happing after spending long time training the offshore team. But does this means STT is violating American first labor policy? How to file a complaint to labor department?

It is reported that data science will grow 190,000 jobs before 2028.
Then we import 80,000 for H1-B each year, mostly in technology.
We also import unlimited F1 / OPT visa each year.
Its bad enough to lose your job when its outsourced.
But its a 1,000 times worst when your forced to train your H1B replacement worker.
If you want a severance package you have to train your replacement
Politian only work for enterprises who can donate billions to support their luxury life. This outsourcing trend will continue for all the companies include the defense industries. Most of US workers will likely end at the service sectors to collect wages similar to OPT/H1/outsource workers.
Last week, OPT worker visa is extended for foreign students on
"Data Science" and "Financial Analytics".
Yes, financial analytics,
will soon worth about as much as java programming today.
Yeah, we are all too late. The cycle looks like this
Step (1) H1-B, OPT
Step (2) Outsourcing
Step (3) Foreign ownership
Tech is pretty much at step (3), how do we stop when it is already theirs?
finance, analytics, AI, etc are next to go, just watch
Google youtube programmers guild cohen and grigsby.
Your concerns are 20 years too late.
@lwz+1eT78vmk - Very small minded and narrow view of the employment situation in this country. Large corporations are indeed abusing the system and contacting your politicians could help. State Street Corporation is based in Boston and have been outsourcing positions for many years which has in most cases influenced future job opportunities and left many families in a terrible financial situation. Many who work for State Street are very well-educated and graduated from many of the best colleges in the Boston area. They are more than qualified but their positions are outsourced anyway. Many of these workers end up going to work for a small corporation where they are treated poorly and end up earning about 25% to 30% less than what they were earning.
The following things need to be done in the U.S at the Federal level 1st
-
Get rid of the H1B program which is being abused by U.S companies to bring
in and replace U.S workers.
There is no shortage of workers in the Medical ,Tech, and other fields.
Companies claim the shortage just to bring in H1B workers
-
Get rid of the Tax laws which make it very profitable for U.S companies to
Outsource work.
I don't think that is possible.
Tech is already gone.
Finance and health analytics are starting the cycle as well, currently with H1/F1, then it will be outsourcing, and gradually become foreign-owned operations at the end.
We just need to survive, until our country lose it all and maybe she will wake up.
When more STT employee file the same complaint to Labor Dept and local senators, it will definitely create a real concern. At the mean time, you do need to start looking for a new job like many of us in STT US offices.
By outsource jobs to other countries, STT is potentially give US business data to other countries, this is a concern.
It never hurt to file a complaint at labor department website. It also does not hurt to send an email to the senators at your state regarding your concern. You never know what politician will do.
How naive you are, my friend. You do realize your employment is at will and State Street owes you nothing as it relates to ‘your job’. You have nose case with the DOL so my suggestion is to start interviewing.
