Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Who is protecting us?

The other day I had a horrible situation with a difficult customer. He behaved absolutely terrible. I wouldn’t want to sound pathetic but that person brought me to tears. However, what was most difficult for me was that this company did not protect me at all in that situation. I understand, "customers are always right" but who will protect us from situations like this and people like this?

I can take care of all bad situations with a forklift mounted carpet pole and a jar of vaseline.

Something to realize, is that with the current staffing desperation you can pretty much say close to anything to a customer and you won't get much, if any, reprimanding. Had a cashier call some rude guy an as----e and nothing came of it. Not to say that is the case at every store, but generally you can be a bit more snide and dismissive to the nasty customers.

I tell them to hit the parking lot and never come back in the store. Do you hear me Turtle? I tell your rude customers to get the f out and never come back.

If a manager will throw you under the bus for a $1.28 pack of screws, why should any of us expect anything different from leaders?

Well Wingnuts, when ye choose retail as ye livelihood, ye are gonna come into contact with the sc-m o' the earth. Best ta stand aside the exit ramps of the highway wit a sign for a made up story about how destitute ye are. Betwix that and the government handouts, ye will git by.

It's easier to walk away which that's what they tell you to do then it is to get fired for saying something you may regret

Unionize or move on to the next company. Either option will yield better results than hoping Lowes will do the right thing.

Agree with first post. Walk the he-l away, cease the transaction and force the attention on the childish customers. Once had a near fist fight between an associate and man and his wife. They called the associate racial slurs and threatened to beat his a-s. The associate never lost his cool..stood his ground. This went on for 20 mins. Find out the needle di-k SM was hiding in next aisle watching the entire time. You have to protect yourself bc sadly the mgmt has been spayed and neutered.

I would have walked away and let someone in a higher pay grade the I have to handle it. We aren't getting paid enough to take abuse from stupid uncaring customers
