Thread regarding Synamedia layoffs

In other important news about Squidamedia

Now Squidamedia have allowed their employees to choose their own personal pronouns - so on your sacking letter you can have a pronoun of choice. Myself? I chose Mr. and Sir.

Jerusalem, UK both hit yesterday with some people with super long careers and a zillion gallons of skills and information - fired... I only hope they are diligently wiping every bit of info they once had and going home on garden leave. If your job is redundant or "right sized" then you no longer have to contribute - after all they don't need you right?

So take my advice and wipe your email, wipe your hard disks and other storage devices and go home. Forget they exist. DO NOT do any type of 'handover' - remember your job and therefore your knowledge are redundant - that means they should have no one to handover to, as your JOB IS NO LONGER NEEDED. They have already forgotten you already.

Doing nothing - totally agree, that’s what any sensible person would do.
Deleting files - not so smart.

If you’re customer-facing then you may want to think about how to manage that ongoing relationship. You’ll be working with those same people again soon enough. Maybe for them! And bad-mouthing Synamedia will only make you look bad.

What utter nonsense. IF your job is redundant then everything you know is also redundant. At the very least you should NOT do any handover. You should do NO MORE work for the company in any capacity. If you are woried about wiping your HDD and devices then hand them into IT. Do NO MORE email. DO NOT explain to customers and by no means feel compelled in ANYWAY to handover your work to someone else. Remember you are REDUNDANT and that means they no longer need you or the work you do. They cannot replace your job with another doing the same thing. Tell them to sling their sh---y hook if they try and say otherwise.

Um, yeah mate. If you are still collecting a pay cheque even through to being sacked, corporate sabotage is probably not the best advice for anyone. Perhaps you are amongst the elite with a nice nest egg to fall back on and care nothing for your own professional reputation of the fact that you'd end up leaving without a dime? Lucky you ...

sounds like you're close to proposing industrial sabotage, dude. Don't know what jurisdiction you operate in, but check before you actually start damaging company property.
