Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Next wave of outsourcing

I'm wondering what is next to be outsourced, any thoughts or inside info on that? In particular, wondering if liability determination, BI evaluations/negotiations, or any other adjuster roles are on the way out.

My area is not very big so I won't name it (just in case someone from my department is on here) and was told no USA hires for any software development. Really sad because the contractors and ASPL people hired to do the work are not cutting it but apparently quality does not matter. We have some very expensive software being built and it's full of bugs. I was told it is only getting worse because they are cutting contractors (almost all the US based contractors are gone) and pulling back on budget. So much for Allstate being a "Technology company!" What a load of cr-p.

These dotheads can’t even speak English properly. When they talk to claimants they read pre scripted language.

I work in licensing. Allstate doing unethical and shady tricks to get Pune folks licensed in the States.
The top brass at Allstate non stop say can Pune do this can Pune do that.
They want all/100% of the day to day blue collar work to be in India. We are all indispensable.

India, Ireland, Mexico. How low cost can you go? China? How about self directed loss reporting via the internet and artificial intelligence settling claims. Paying claims by the bots. Give it a year.

I have heard they are getting people in Pune their adjuster license now. If they can send subro negotiations to EXL and Pune anything can and probably will go. They could care less if EXL doesn't respond to a single phone call or email. Money is just sitting waiting to be collected. If an insured files a claim they want to make sure they leave Allstate.

Anything and everything you can think of and/or if they can get away with it. I'm in legal, and the first thing any of the higher-ups ask is "can this be automated or sent to Pune?"
