Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Issues with replacements

I really can’t believe GM can’t find good candidates to replace my colleagues who have left. However, there has been no replacement for months. I wonder what could be the reason?
The only explanation I can think of is that GM won't find replacements for them as long as we remain willing and able to be overworked to the maximum.

GM has issues retaining talent, bootlickers and people who have really good branding/perception skills are the ones who typically get the promotions and big raises.

It's a tight labor market and there's competition for skilled workers?

Well duh. I tell people all the time, don't do the work of those who were pushed out. Otherwise they'll keep pushing people out until you really can't handle the load.
