Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Repost from Sam's Club side...We NEED to do this!

No group is in more need of union representation than the abused work force of this abusive company. Sam Walton called management by intimidation "chicken management", but that is the only method those currently in charge of running this company know. Harassment and intimidation is now the rule of law here. Nobody should accept the kind of working conditions employees of this company have grown to accept as "normal". It is definitely not normal to be treated the way this company treats its staff. We deserve better. We deserve better working conditions. We deserve to be treated with respect. We deserve to be fairly compensated for our labor. We deserve to have protection from forced attrition as we earn the advantages of seniority.

The company will tell you that they oppose unions because it drives a wedge between the employee and company management and therefore negatively affects the "open communication" and bogus open door policy of the company. Do not swallow this corporate propaganda. When was the last time the company listened to you or your views? You fill out the grass roots survey year after year, but have you noticed any changes as a result? Did you listen to your store manager coach you on how to fill it out "correctly"? The company does not care about communicating with you, they only care about CONTROLLING you. You are nothing but an expense to them......an expense they want to control and minimize.

THE COMPANY DOES NOT WANT ASSOCIATES TO UNIONIZE BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY WOULD HAVE TO PAY US BETTER AND TREAT US LIKE HUMAN BEINGS!!!

What is everybody so afraid of? Put it to a vote!!!!

Contact your local UFCW office for help in launching this initiative.

WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!

Go ahead. Be the one at your store to start talking about a union. Let us know how it goes.

You’ll never get it done. Store workers are too scared to unionize.

This is hilarious. The UFCW is literally cold and dead. They are on their deathbed. They need a ‘win’ to even stay afloat. Even if Walmart and Sam’s associates are interested in a union, which I’m pretty sure the rank and file are not, it would be throat strangling to jump onto bed with the UFCW.

Looks like mostly corporate management responding to this one to me. It sounds like a good idea to me based on what others are getting from their union strikes.

Walmart is an awful company. Finally left after almost 10 years. Idk why I stayed that long? But then maybe I wouldn’t be where I am now. Make A LOT more money weekends and holidays off and actually respected and appreciated by new employer. What a difference. Get out of that awful company.
