Underperforming CAs Promoting to CS

I know of two historically underperforming INJ CAs consistently rated 2-3 with unpronounceable names who just made CS in the internal hiring lottery. Every old white person, male & female, over 50 w/ 10+ yrs experience was rejected. Did you apply? Make it? Shot down? Share your demographics below…

This has been one of the more entertaining threads of late. Claims is a sewer that’s getting worse, not better. It’s a meatgrinder; not for everyone. There’s a reason that people search ABC (anything but claims) when trying to post out. If you’re unhappy and/or the hiring process is broken then maybe you should consider other options or give 10% until retirement and stop worrying about things beyond your control? (Fu---d up claim handling caused by 30 handlers gang-ba----g a single claim?)

“EPR ratings are not part of the process to post!”

  • Obviously.

“ Question is do you have the credentials ie Education or skills to get to a CS level job?”

  • Bachelor’s Degree

“ Times have changed. Please look this up for yourself. You may be getting passed up if you don’t keep up on these things. ”

  • The chickens are already coming home to roost in claims.

News flash! EPR ratings are not part of the process to post! Times have changed. Please look this up for yourself. You may be getting passed up if you don’t keep up on these things. It still takes effort, skills and talent to go through the hiring process done by HR. Not understanding why you added “unpronounceable names” as it’s not really about experience or EPR rating. Question is do you have the credentials ie Education or skills to get to a CS level job?

Someone sounds really bu-t hurt! They can’t even find people outside the company to take these cr---y jobs. Who cares, its obvious they had to jump through hoops and hurdles to land that gig. Not to mention they probably weren’t liked by their TM based on being labeled “underperforming”. It’s all subjective and not always qualitative or quantitative with EPR’s. There’s also some underperforming CA’s who still get a 4 or 5 ratings based on being a favorite pet for their TM! Those individuals aren’t posting for CS jobs because they have learned who’s rear to kiss and clearly still yielding an excellent EPR bonus. Don’t hate the player, hate the game.

The majority of CAs that got promoted to CS in my department in the past month or so (large move) were white males and females and I would say they would rate 4 out of 5 for the most part with 5+ years experience.

Hopefully this doesn’t blow your mind but we IM over Skype regularly. I’m happy he’s getting a chance to promote up. My point all along, and trying to see if anyone else who applied would post their results, is how D&I woke this hiring process was.

Not making CS could be a blessing in disguise. Trust me, the job is miserable and I wish on a daily basis I could go back to being a CA. If you're approaching 55, just take that sweet retirement when eligible. Or get CPCU and work for one of the external/IE firms and work CAT a couple years and make bank. It is obvious what SF is doing. It does not even need to be analyzed. 14% of population has at least 50-60% of CS jobs that I interact with. I've even heard management say there is no way a white person can be considered for an open spot. I believe many other companies are doing same thing nowadays but SF seems to be taking it to an extreme.

OP here … If you’re rated a 3, but a 2 makes CS, wouldn’t you wonder? If the 2 was named Bob and the 3 named Makabebe that’s no problem? My white bu-t can’t pronounce European names any better than Asian so don’t think you’re special. Coming from poor Eastern European farmers who immigrated to Indiana, my ancestors were too poor to own slaves. My nieces are not-enough Crow and faced such racism at the tribal school they ended up moving. Stop the racist talk. I’m pointing out this promotional process is flawed and was looking for data. Is analysis racist now too?

OP- you wrote "unpronounceable names" in your rant about those you think are lesser qualified than your white a-s. That's where the thought about you being a sister-loving re----k racist so--------h came from.

OP here … what’s to correct? I’m old by business standards and white and male. That make me racist? Considering I’ve been bashed for believing in content or character and not skin color I guess so.

@ylx- not my post but I believe the post was referring to the OP’s use of “old white person.” I am sure they will correct me if not accurate.

What is going on in ILR today, I've been told it's 1-2 hours to just file a claim today? Is this covid related or just the terrible turnover?

You white people….
Back when I was a CA I was constantly passed up even though I was a top performer. It’s not race game. They simply don’t like you, and based on this post I can see why.
