Insult to Injury

Adding insult to Injury. A large number of colleagues (using Macyspeak so you can recognize me as one of you) have fallen ill with COVID over the past few weeks. The direction is to call HR Services to provide a positive test result to qualify for paid time off due to COVID. The backlog in this department is unmeasurable. No one is available to answer the calls. We are leaving sick and vulnerable colleagues to worry when and if they will be paid. The blame here most certainly resides at the top. JG and company: step in and up to make a plan to support the HR department and all colleagues in turn to get the information and help they need during this crisis.

Yes you get 5 days Covid Pay but they are so backlogged. It will take a little while to approve the 5 days. They will but who knows how long it will take.

Your people leader can submit a case for you through insite. I’ve done it numerous times for colleagues on my team.

So, if you have covid you won’t have to use your own PTO time? I think some people are coming to work sick because they don’t know this.
