Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Those with one task teams

Those that have one task teams , what schedule does your back end supervisor work since they don't have to worry about freight flow? What are their job duties ?

Ours works 6am-3pm and does nothing but sit in back office! helps with nothing and has no responsibility at all! but doesn't matter cause the position is going away soon anyways!

Backend manager isn't going away where on earth did you hear this? Maybe you're confusing it with back end clerk because yes they do sit in the office on their butts

Depending on the store size it’s usually 5-2 and one of the worst jobs in the building. The OTT will never be able to pull all deliveries every day so that falls on them and they no longer have order pullers…oh and they get up to 5 DC trucks of bulk freight(appliances, grills and patio furniture) during the week as well. Hope that helps

Wow, your overnight guys actually pull all the deliveries? We must be stuck with the cream of the re--rded crop here. Whenever they actually do pull for deliveries, they will leave whatever appliance was in front of the one they needed on the floor. There are usually 10 appliances I have to put up every single morning, on top of all the stickers they knock down.
Do they also check the appliances out of your inventory? Because they don't here! I have to do audits every other day as well as the stupid audit that's due every Wednesday. Did I mention I hate Lowe's?

Back end receiving Manager at my store works Monday to Friday, usually 7am to 4pm. Our task team pulls all deliveries overnight.

I guess I should rephrase the question. If you have a ott with 2 overnight managers, what is your back end manager working. Not the overnight ds?

I'm a receiver/stocker who works in the day. My manager will either work 5-2 or 7-4. He usually has to pull flatbed deliveries in the morning because the guys overnight don't do it. Since our delivery coordinator only works three days a week and most of the ASMs are lazy, he also has to take all the delivery calls that come in as well as complete the MRs from the previous day. He does his best to help us receive all the LTL, flatbed trucks, and parcel packages that show up throughout the day too.

There's still freight flow during the day, it just shows up sporadically and usually at the worst possible times. Really sucks to have FedEx Ground drop off 40-70 packages on a regular basis.
