I've been applying for jobs and one of the things I've been highlighting is my willingness to work at the office. I know it might sound obvious and unnecessary but I've been getting great reactions because so many people are looking to work remotely. I have received two offers already and I have a few more irons in the fire. I don't know if this will help anybody in any way, but it doesn't hurt to share.

No thx
I work for a competitor and I’m permanent WFH. I thought Allstate was giving employees the option before I left also. Either permanent wfh, hybrid or back to office?
I left in July though.
I think it is pointless to go back unless that is something that an individual wants.
This sounds like a recipe for finding a job at a company that doesn't learn it's lessons. Say what you want about Allstate, but they seem to get it.
The whole concept of requiring employees in an office after what has happened the last couple years shows a lack of trust and a disregard for health, the environment and the employees time.
I'm still trying to find legitimately good reasons to require all workers onsite.
Aside from managers not being able to constantly see people working, there is nothing you can do in person that can't be as effectively done remotely.
@tdk+1eJLFHKT not to mention its much friendlier on the environment to not have people driving their personal vehicles to and from work every day if they don't need to
@kui+1eJLFHKT Any time spent commuting more than the 30 seconds it takes me to walk to my office in my apartment is time wasted.
Or, you know, have in-demand skills... being in tech, I highly doubt I'll ever need to regularly step foot in an office ever again.
Office work will be back for many employers, just a matter of time. Some parts of the country do not have long commutes. I was about 12 minutes from our MCO. The point is be willing to adapt to either for the next employer, all options on the table helping us move on from the big blue Titanic.
Good for you.
Good luck with the endless COVID protocols, time wasted commuting, etc.
