Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Of course Walmart is among the first to do this

Walmart is slashing paid leave for employees who test positive for Covid-19 or need to quarantine from two weeks to one, according to multiple reports Wednesday, becoming one of the first major retailers to shorten its pandemic-related leave following new guidance from U.S. health officials.

Pretty soon, no companies will have any paid COVID leave. It’s on the way out.

Companies across the nation are embracing this for numerous reasons. Just look at the tens of thousands of airline flights canceled since Christmas Eve because flight crews are simply not available because they had to quarantine after testing positive. Businesses not able to open or stay open because omicron is sweeping across our land.

The bottom line is this: after two years, we now know more about virus, the incubation times and contagious times. The CDC rightly changed the 10 day rule down to 5. That decision is based on solid science and has not been challenged anywhere by anyone.

However, and this is a solid fact supported by data, Walmart associates have been taking advantage of Walmart’s liberal Covid policy. Hundreds of documented cases of associates out numerous times claiming they have COVID when they did not, or fabricated/fake documentation to get another Covid leave or extension.

It pains me to say this, and it should be embarrassing for all Walmart associates, but many low life associates lied and faked their situation to get paid Covid leaves to get off work and get their paychecks, too.

All companies are among the first ones doing this. LOL! Not news at all. Companies tend to do exactly what they think they need to do, and no more, to keep themselves from excessive legal troubles.
