I have worked here for years and literally know ZERO employees/coworkers who have Allstate for home or auto. Even agents and sales staff have insurance elsewhere. Imagine that. We get a discount and still way more. That’s is embarrassing.
Why??
WE KNOW our product is overpriced and inferior to all the other big names out there even with employee discounts!

I work at State Farm now and most of them have Allstate now as it is cheaper than anyone else we have found, I switched from Allstate when I left and just had a quote from Allstate that beats State Farm, Progressive, and GEICO so I am switching back.
Saving money is saving money.
This is no different from a Ford employee driving a Toyota. Just because you get a discount doesn't make it worth settling for inferior quality.
Even if Allstate was priced reasonably I still wouldn't have it as my insurance carrier. I see how this company operates and how they mistreat their employees and the way they short cut their customers in claims and service and how corporate and the exclusive agents con new business with lies, deception, and intentional misinformation. No thanks. Also can you imagine being in a claims or payment dispute with your employer? No way!
I moved over to progressive as a claims adjuster last year during the transformative growth changes and get 10% off as an employee. Not much .
That's funny because I don't work with anyone who doesn't have allstate. It's weird but true
Allstate has always been the most expensive and the customer to agent model is dying
@OP+1eAuKnRb How bad is your driving record or credit? I left Allstate almost 9 months ago with the intention of switching but I can't justify paying more money to go with Progressive, GEICO, or State Farm.
One of my friends works in a State Farm office and would like to switch because of how much extra she is paying with them but the agent said if he sees any of his staff are no longer insured by him they won't get any more raises.
