Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Next generation EM CEO candidates after DW

Will not be Chapman, it has been a tradition of EM to nominate 2 high flyers to the final race and pick one. Chapman would be too old. These nominees age needs to be >= 10yrs difference with current CEO so that each CEO could have sufficient time to lead. Think of Rex T vs. E.Galante and D.Woods vs. J.Williams. My bet will be on GP President or Uncon VP.

LDC is there to show that we embrace I&D. Nothing of substance.

Will be the CFO brought in by the Board challenge. She's taking handover notes from DW this year.

If they are currently older than 52, then they will not be the next CEO or next on the Management committee. Today all of these positions are filled with people between 55 and 58. Current CEO and MC will be in their seats for 7 or 8 more years. Next CEO and MC are people in their mid forties to early fifties.

What difference does it make? Clones generated by the same rotten system. Any change would at least require a professional manager from outside, but that would be a blow to the system so there will be strong pushback. It might be too late altogether.

Someone from fuels and lubricants or refining and supply 100%

My guess is LDC. She's young enough, charismatic, and would be a first as female CEO.

You're all wrong - a few more years of incompetence and the activist shareholders will vote in a new CEO to shake things up - Greta Thunberg.

@ahd+1e9F2pEv. Your correct about her Destructive rein , the department heads planner , and supervisors are scared to death. No one left on this site to tell her the truth, no N- ts. YL is just waiting for the site closure, and sale. leave with her lump sum, 2022 will be another mass exodus of researchers most of the talent has left. I have never seen anyone do this much damage in my career. She did loose the contractor case though. Her and Syrup both S* *k. The damage to the ILEU is bigger than her. There is a bigger plan in play here. Darren is no better than Bruce both management puppets. So sad

It will depend on how the company does in the next 5 years. They may decide to pick an outsider, and even maybe someone outside the O&G industry. A bit like what happened at IBM in the 90s who stopped with the “tradition” of internal promotion and nominated Lou Gerstner from RJR Nabisco to replace John Akers a trye IBMer.
Caveat : pure speculation on my part.

My vote is for Meg O’Neill, ex-ExxonMobil upstreamer, and following a stint as CEO of Woodside with the BHP merger under her belt…she would bring a unique perspective having been on both sides of the fence.

@jut+1e9F2pEv... Spot on in every aspect. I'd be offering very short odds on him. He's the absolute perfect candidate.

If the investors have any concern about their money they’ll go outside for the next CEO.

The senior management in XOM is so bad they’ll all have to go over the next 3-5 years.

I’m hoping the next AGM is when Woods finally fu--s off.

Would agree that at this rate it needs to be someone external. Culture is too insular which was okay when it worked and the company dominated, but that’s not the case anymore.

Should be someone innovative, agreeable, and who has good business acumen - not just “Exxon” processes.

Hopefully dw gets voted out otherwise the company will be a shell of itself in 10 ish years

No way it will be anyone from chems, and definitely not XTO. Will be from DS F&L.

Bart from XTO. Great smile, does nothing except what his superiors want, listens to employees says he feels their pain and does nothing. Plus free ice cream on Fridays. Go Bart.
