Belk in Charlotte use to attract What I called the “ladies who lunch” customer. They didn’t work, had a Belk elite card, prominent husbands that worked in Charlotte, strong roots to Charlotte, and would come in the store not only to shop, but to socialize with the staff. That type of customer and those employees that worked at Southpark Belk back then in the 1990s to mid 2000s are long gone, never to be replaced. that atmosphere was something that was so unique to Belk, it truly was a southern store with great customer service. Sad that’s it all gone downhill.

Belk in 2021 is in name only, not every remotely the same company and employees as 20 years ago.
My bullshitometer is detecting the person who replied never worked for southpark from 98-01, they are trying to make the OP seem like they don’t know what the old belk was like
Oh god Shilly Winters is back
I worked for Belk at this location in 98-01.
Wasn’t as great as the poster thinks or wishes it was.
Not sure why this is relevant anyway but you seem to enjoy yourselves on this board.
Be Classy not Trashy! This is what Belk is focused only today in making money and not about Modern Southern Style image any more.
I remember Violet and Farrah from BelkSouthPark. This would have been 2001 ish, wonderful women.
