So at my location several train masters with previous ground service are taking a temporary resignation/hold their TM management position to work in other locations on the system. They are being paid a huge sum of money to temporarily relocate and help the company with shortages throughout the system. STB they can continue to tell you otherwise but the place is falling apart .

UP didnt want Sanborn in fruitcake California. They fired her.
Burn mother fu---r burn!!!!
A trainmaster from my terminal just left to go back home. He said they gave him a 50k bonus for a 6 month assignment. I think he's full of cr-p but who knows.
This place is a dumpster fire rolling down hill, squires bailed off the titanic (or was forced out) the new guy may or may not be the same but in the end they’re all Wall Street puppets. Either way its been a long 7 years under the current regime.
The place feels like it's not far from a collapse.
Squires is a weasel, a lawyer through and through. How any of these trade magazine call him a railroader is beyond me. The suits who never have likely been on a train for more than a photo op get to prance around and pretend they actually operate anything. They are just the bag men, playing the game and making sure the investors get paid. Other than that they have no real operational control over jack. Just like when they called Cindy Sanborn railroader of the year or such nonsense, how many cars has she switched or thru freight runs has she done? She is a big dy-e so she probably would get along on the ground but it’s too late for that now!!!
Remember the standard union response… “the company has the right”. Think of all your money they get to throw that back in your face.
If they are having to exercise their conductor seniority and report on a go team how can they be paid any more than a craft employee doing the same job?
I heard that squires forced them to gargle and wouldn't let them sp-t. Just like the gaping wholes he left in our back yards. He will surely not be missed, I hope that bean counter has a nice life, and doesn't run into me in everyday life.
