Fairly new here is it frowned upon to carryover 10 days?

It’s a sign that your time management skills and abilities are lacking.

You got bigger things to worry about, like job stability.... just saying. Cruise the threads, it's real.

Carry over up to 10 -- no issue and it's never been frowned upon (in EMIT).

10 days no issue. Carry it as an extra paycheck if they pip you. We all know the new process is to protect the young and remove the knowledge.

Avoid carrying over 10 days. This year it is unfortunate because the contiguous carry-over policy was changed mid-year and fairly quietly. Used to be if you took off December 20 - January 5 (or whatever day you returned in Jan) that it would all be counted for the year when you started your vacation in Dec. That has been discontinued - I think when they rolled out +1 personal holiday day. One of my reports was counting on that contiguous carryover … so instead of 10 days CO, ended up with 15 days. Luckily our DOAG 5 isn’t a jerk so it was approved.

I hope people were paying attention when the policy changed. Could be a lot of upset / retro DOAG 5 requests in January…

10 - yes no issue at all; 11 - absolutely not.
With respect to one of the other comments - take your vacation! You earned it! Don't work while on vacation! The company does not deserve your family time like that, and it is extremely unhealthy to not rest from time to time!

Carry it over. No one takes vacation anyway.

I've done it for years. It isn't frowned upon at all.
