Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Another carrier refugee

I want to bail the $Hitshow I work for. I wont name it because thats libel but it has to do with Hands.

How does one move over that is experienced and is it worth it? Serious question please take a look at whats going on with your competitors.

You, Geico, Progressive are crushing it. I want to move to winner is it worth it or no?

The time to get out of insurance was 10 years ago. I worked at multiple carriers and it's all the same garbage. Six sigma lean. Maybe Auto Owner's is ok, but even the tiny mutual I interviewed and shadowed at for a day was a robotic lifeless pit of misery. I ran out the door and got a job in a different industry.

If I were you I would stay where you are at, the devil you know if you get my drift. I have friends at all the big insurance companies due to how many years I have worked in insurance and they are all the same

Define overwork? OK! When you try to put 10 lbs of cr*p in a 5 lb bucket. My definition. SF is good at doing that. I'm pretty sure most in operations don't see the damage it causes to your health, your family, and your ability to communicate effectively. Please know it does catch up with you. Many years at SF I have been to many funerals of associates who always were putting 10 lbs in the 5 lb bucket. Metrics management, reduction of benefits, and good ol boy leadership adds to what I call the sl------r.

Reality is, you are likely trading issues when jumping ship, however, Allstate is the worst of the worst from what I hear. Depends what department you plan to join, each will have their own issues and problems. I know people at progressive and gieco and its hit or miss there dependent on you manager and role, same will be true here.

The bright side about working here is that your issues are paid by the hour, and if they want/demand over time, its paid for well. Really one of the only things that stopped me jumping to progressive/geico is the salary and overload of work. Here were overloaded but at least i get some extra money out of it.

If you are experienced, better than average, you can make it anywhere.

I think it’s going to depend on what exactly it is you do. SF has its issues and some departments are way worse than others.
