Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

OMICRON

Should we be worried? Is there going to be more reactionary layoffs followed by panicked rehiring? Does anybody know?

Actually rich and poor both did better under Reagan who at least understood that government is not the solution to the problem. Government is the problem. There will always be rich and powerful people but history has shown that it's a recipe for disaster to have the large centralized system that we have created. This won't be fun.

"Economy being destroyed" Hahaha, the countdown timer on America was started in the 80s by Reagan when he decided the only people in America who matter are the rich.

The only thing you need to worry about is the new world order where we are all slaves and have no rights. The economy is being systematically destroyed before your eyes and covid is the excuse. You will look back one day and wish you had not fallen for this red herring. Oh there's a flu going around.. let's destroy America so we can all be "safe"

The company is giving employees ten days off who test positive for Covid. I tested positive twice this year and received an extra two weeks' vacation on top of my three weeks. I was asymptomatic both times and didn't quarantine either. My buddies got a paid day off to get tested, too. I told HR I was in close contact with them at work. Negative for them, of course. I think they got tested, but who's checking anyway? Ha Ha

A resistant strain may be here already. The resumption of cruises in the U.S. has led to the “introduction and sustained transmission of COVID-19” among cruise ships, despite high vaccination rates among both crew and passengers. Air travel may suffer, too.

Rumors of Wilmington idling the plant in the next 5 years. High profile people already leaving. Rushing to fully Automate so machines can be picked up and moved to the next location with minimal downtown. Raises also coming to keep morale up and keep people blind. Glad I got out when I did.

Don't forget that government did all this carnage for nothing. Masks lockdowns etc made no difference. Don't let them do it again. Stay vigilant and help support the cause by working and voting. Hang in there people.

Probably not. Just another variant like “delta”. There will be another variant after “Omicron”. COVID will not go away, just live with it. If you live in fear, are you really living.

Expect reduction in force measures to be announced late December, implemented by Feb 1. Despite messaging regarding airlines not being impacted, it has already started, and many Trans Atlantic flights have yet to return.

I wouldn’t worry too much about the virus right now. What management needs to focus on now are the Supply Chain issues. Right now it looks like 2023 is when we turn the corner and get back to normal. If then.

Doesn't look like much at this point. I have heard them blaming the unvaccinated people already for the variants. Don't expect them to stop pushing the jabs because there is so much money and power to be had. I hope I am wrong.
