Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Never forgot - Carl Icahn is the reason Xerox is headed for the dumpster

Sorry for the long link/PDF, but the original article is messed up.

This article lays out Carl Icahn's playbook and if you read it, you'll see what he did at those other companies is what he's doing with Xerox.

Never forget that Carl Icahn is personally responsible for where Xerox is right now.

From the article:

"This report is the first of its kind to examine the scope and severity of Icahn’s
record of destroying American jobs. It sheds fresh light on his destructive
business practices."

In the ten deals reviewed below, Carl Icahn made money by driving the
destruction of more than 35,000 American jobs in key industries across the
country, as well as the elimination of pensions and/or health benefits for more
than 126,000 American families."

Ursula and ACS disaster started it, then Icahn, now lexmark, and now techs with no skill and ZERO customer service skill.

Xerox pizza 🍕. What an idea. Instead of cheese and hot peppers on the tables, we could put out toner and developer. What a concept. 👍

Carl and covid have just sped up the demise of Xerox. It was pretty much going under with exec's and board we had at the time.

Once Icahn came into the fold everyone should have started running for the door. Not much if any good will come from this situation. Break a once strong corporation down and sell off the parts with no regard for the people who put their time and effort in to make it what it once was. No one saw COVID coming but this pandemic is the big equalizer. Too many operations suddenly realized they are just as productive (maybe more so) by working from home. The printing side of business is fading fast and Xerox will eventually be laid to waste. The times they are a changing.

Yes I learned to ignore people that talk down to people. It’s what us Neanderthals do. Enjoy your jet boat ride to the Hamptons, say hi to John V.

Let him know how you successfully showed us, that we are completely wrong on everything we know.

Xerox can shut their doors tonite and I bet I sleep like a baby. It would be one less corrupt to the core company to use employees like cattle. 😴

Round up time Huh? Thanks for nothing.

I gave xerox stock out on Halloween as it was cheaper than candy for the kids.

Great wallpaper too.

Yes we are All Stupid and you are coming down to our level to explain it.
Thanks so much. Always good to tell people what to think.
You have a real future in Government.
We really need to hear this, when employees are suffering. I am not worried about me. I’m worried about the people that believe in this company and still get shafted.
You sir are all about economics and backing up Xerox’s bad decisions.
If xerox is right, they sure have made a lot of enemies. I am Not Alone.
Thanks for coming down to talk to us knuckle draggers. We appreciate it.

You guys cant see that the alternative is close the doors and fire everyone. This is not profits off the backs of employees, it is right sizing (pricing) the workforce. Technology and education has enabled a competent, global workforce and the SLT is leveraging that to buy some time. You cannot keep a $26B size employee base an $7B.

@1omx
Spot on.....this guy commenting to you is a wicked ja----s, yes shareholders want a return on their money but when you profit off the cost of hundreds of people who lost their livelyhood you are no better than the dirt off the street.
A company without employees happiness and welfare being a priority makes your company no better than some dr-g lord
Treat your employees right and not only will they work harder for you they will stay and be loyal to making sure your shareholders reap as well

The real bad guys here are the ones that made it so easy for the Ichan investors to gain control. That's who you should be angry with. The SLT in place at that time folded like a house of cards, notwithstanding their enormous comp.

Required layoff's is not treating employees like dirt. A $7B company cannot support the same workforce as a $26B company. XRX is an amazing place for the top 50 employees. And everyone else has a choice to stay or go. With your amazing education and abilities, employment will never be a problem.

Ok pinhead. I got all nite, tomorrow too
You wanna play games? We can play games. I am not saying you are wrong about shareholders. I am saying you are wrong to be so indignant to the employees that create your dividend.
At some point you don’t put greed above the well beings of any employees. It’s not all about your damn dividend. If nobody wants to work for xerox, you are not getting your damn dividend, at least not from xerox. ( not for long )
And one more thing, I graduated from Purdue Lafayette with a degree in Electrical engineering. Not a community college. Woe is me that I didn’t go to Harvard and subscribe to the wall street journal for the last 5 years.
But I still know employees are the heart of any organization. As soon as you treat them like dirt, you can bet you are going to loose revenue and customers faster than you can cash your dividend check. Carl Icahn would sell your kidneys if you let him do so.
I await the sarcasm and elitist attitude to blossom here. Just responding.

Shareholder and owner are the same thing. You guys, or more likely one guy, are lost. Why comment if you have no idea what you are talking about?

I'll keep going. Shareholders are owners. The company exists to provide earnings to shareholders in the form of dividends or capital appreciation. That's it. The number of employees will flex based on the needs of the company. That's it. I guess you slept through that class in community college.

Icahn is one of the largest shareholders. So he's technically both a shareholder AND an owner.

The shareholders are to blame as well. Everyone wants their stock to go up or dividend. I can’t blame them for that, but at the cost of people’s careers and benefits. But Carl and his cronies are definitely a huge part of this scam.
Reason #47 to get as far away from this disaster as soon as possible.

Xerox has been in shambles since 1999. It’s been patched together to make the previous C suites very wealthy while the worker bee was given the shaft. Don’t blame icahn. This company was fleeced for decades.

Now has icahn made it more of a mess?!? Yes.

The old owners of Xerox are guilty of leaving the company in a vulnerable position to allow some Corporate Raider come in and pillage and fleece the company for his own ego.
