Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

This sure does look familiar SF!

I think Tipsy and the other minions think people do not remember this. You could not describe SF's current claim/business model any better. Give a low ball Pocket Estimate, make them wait 2-3 weeks for maybe a virtual inspection, use a vendor and say it's not our fault, and find just about every means imaginable to delay paying a claim!

Photo estimate and vendor assist are far from accurate, intentionally. They are always thousands off.

You obviously don't work in claims as a rep, I get constant complaints about SF low balling estimates, taking 2-3 weeks to review a supplement, 3PET, lord forbid if it is a travel trailer! Pocket Estimate is a joke for sure! Shops are starting to tell people they will not take a car in for repairs if it is SF. Hate us! I hear it allllll day long from non-program shops, agent's and insureds/claimants alike. It's a way to slooooww down the money going out the door and it is intentional for sure! I hear fire claims is just as bad if not worse as SF is starting to try to repair most roofs instead of replacing them!

Agents are the front line for customer complaints. What we hear is “ they don’t respond or call me back”. We virtually never hear complaints about the actual claim settlement figures.

@1anz-excatly right. Nearly 30 years in claims for me and it is always pay what we owe and do so promptly. If anything we over pay-especially during a CAT.

I read the article and while our claim service leaves a lot to be desired, in my 32 years I have never been told to delay paying a claim or to intentionally lowball on a settlement. To me, that is why Allstate got their a$$ handed to them and the major difference in between the situations.

Hey LMFAO...the whole point of the OP was to compare what Allstate was going back then to what SF is doing today....probably want to study a little harder for that first AINS test...not sure your chances are looking to good at this point....

LMFAO-2007 article primarily about Allstate. Maybe George Bush was behind it?

The article is wonderful. Yes, it's time to have insurers regulated to something similar to the SEC. Those paltry state laws and tiny laughable fines do nothing to protect consumers and punish wrong-doing by the bullies.

HA! The claims I review are paid with little to no investigation at all. Too busy following the word tract to ask a decent follow-up question. 3rdPAP same time in 3 yrs? Car stolen, had 2 sets of keys, now only one. Burglary- yeah I have 3 brand new 60” Curve TV’s I bought online, but I don’t have any docs.

Yup! And people wonder why some people consider insurance extortion and legalized mafia.
