It’s official. The claims department, as a whole, has failed.
As a CS, every phone call I get is about a CA or new CS providing wrong information that is costing the customers money and time.
The amount of incompetence is astonishing.
The poor people who were hired on from their previous fry cook jobs are not at fault. They didn’t receive proper training.
The borderline illegal or illegal claim handling that is now a business practice is completely at the hands of Robert Yi and Michael Tipsord.
They just resign before they completely fail the company and cost people their jobs.

And you are the perfect example of why AI is the better choice for your job.
@fmik-last time we saw a similar rush of humanity was when they had free corn dogs in the cafeteria.
@fmik-what? Stop those beers-you are drunk as a skunk. Or if sober, d-mb as a box of rocks.
@fiky You probably fit right in with the 50,000 self-centered, don’t care about anyone else, kind of today’s people whose collective stupidity crushed fellow human beings to death in Houston last weekend.
Looks like GEICO’s having serious issues too with hold times and employee burnout/turnover. Their employees are blowing up the r/GEICO subreddit over working conditions and low pay increases relative to CEO/exec compensation, even though their page on this site isn’t very active.
Really . People are going to die because Sf hires new people. Wow you are deranged.
It’s fast becoming a world where ALL the experienced competent people are being replaced by and even displaced by cheap incompetent rookies who don’t know what they are even doing everywhere you look now. Maybe the important people at SF thinks this is a good thing, but it definitely isn’t. People can even die because of this stuff (hiring cheap, inexperienced) like on that Hollywood movie set recently with the g-ns. I probably sound like a crabby old boomer, but IDGAF.
Claims is the abomination of the company. How many stories after stories of ineptness, lack of response, rudeness of reps, a complete explosion of the culture, morale in the dumps, poor comes with customers , run every roof claim through its own squid game, hold times over 50 minutes, cutting personnel to save pennies at the expense of the above, and a lot more
The person pulling the puppet strings for this debacle was paid a 18million bonus last year. How do you fancy that.
Not to mention all of these CS that never answer their phone and pi-s off the CS working on the ACD line
Agreed. Saw the email for CAs to apply for CS roles. I’ll apply to be a “motivated” employee but I know too many CS that stepped down to CA role.
This right here is why I love my CA job. I only have to clean up after CA’s. That extra 10k a year isn’t worth the a-s chewings, stress, and gray hairs.
this is true but please don't point fingers at CAs , I have seen tons of CS work that leaves a lot to be desired and the clean up of CS worked claims is a mess too.
ECRs I think is the biggest factor of how terrible claims are being worked right now, they only care about hitting their quota and not quality, of course the metrics being imposed and the fact that claims is short staffed also makes it so that regular claim handlers have to choose between quality or meeting their ever increasing metrics so they don't get fired.
bottom line is SF Executives are a fault for their ever going attempt at reducing cost no matter the consequences, not hiring in 2 years will and is having dire consequences in the work environment.
All of this is true and correct. Training is pathetic, accountability is non-existent. Given where we are going I don’t see this changing. Truly sad to watch what could be so great fail so terribly.
Don’t forget ECRs labeling mail and pushing out tasks but doing nothing in the claim, leaving you to get chewed out by the customer and do all the work when they get you on the phone after they waited 45 minutes on hold.
And there are zero consequences for a complete lack of performance. We are just expected to clean up the mess and stop complaining.
Not to mention the CA’s just push their work off on anybody they can.
