Heard the JP ERP is a mess and subsequent APAC roll out will be a tough challenge for leadership

The worst thing that 3M bet on Mike Roman and his advance 3M model, which has not been thought through and really the organisation is clueless with all this external consultations and poor executions. Half deployed ERPs , half driven GSS , stagnating NPI . It’s a pity to see the org go down this path.. and as we build more top management from outside the culture abs org is lost.. Organisations are built on trust and trust is lost from top to bottom..

It looks 3M is getting more and more from GE alumni

I bet Roman and his new buddies hired from GE are evaluating all options to further squeeze the lemon - my guess is they will soon start selling off a couple businesses, and then split the rest into individual companies.

3M won't split up. It's just dieing a slow death by 1000 cuts. Everytime 3M misses OP, more people get laid off, more spending cuts, etc. It's that simple. And it's missed OP all year and probably next year too. Plan accordingly people!

How are they bringing in world class talent when HR doesnt authorize headcount and barely any job openings? Sounds like fake news trying to encourage people to stay. NOTHING TO SEE HERE! ITS UNDER CONTROL!!!!

In a recent virtual town hall meeting, a senior executive acknowledged that attrition rates were rather high. For the very first time, I heard a senior management person acknowledging that fact.

However he mentioned that Mother Mining is bringing lot of new new world class talent.

It seems to me that the dam is broken and leaking water at an alarmingly high rate and instead of repairing the dam, the engineer in charge is adding more water

come on guys...wake up !!!

It will take a new person a couple of years to realize that this company has very little to offer in terms of career growth and development and he / she will look for greener pastures in year 3 / 4 after joining.

Fix the dam ....like now!

nobody wants it,, and how can Roman take his big payoff when the company is on a slide for the next 12-18 months, watch out for the share price going down 10-15 usd in the second week of november,, it might not bounce back ever,, the new norm will be $145 from february onwards,, the big crash could happen in November next year
