It would be good to start the new year in a new company. There is no hope that things will change for the better here. How long have you been looking for a job and not finding anything acceptable? I'm getting a little desperate because I haven't been able to find anything better for 5 months now (one of the problems is my age).

You work at CHK... you've already sold your soul to Stan. If you're an engineer or geo, best bet is to just stay put. Other operators have their own brand of BS to deal with. Although... a clean slate is always nice.
Depending on what your professional expertise is, you may be screwed, or you may just need a bit of patience.
If you are in IT/data/coding, you can easily jump in a month or so.
If you are in finance/accounting, don’t worry too much, keep applying, good things will come.
If you are a petroleum/subsurface engineer or geoscientist, you may need to sell your soul to the devil if you want to find a similar job to the current one.
