Thread regarding Pembina Pipeline Corp layoffs

Pembina: Working here just isn't worth it.

RE: staff workload: It will get worse. They lie, guilt, and manipulate staff in to taking on more work. The mindset from above is that staff need to suck it up and work harder vs. hiring help. All about the bottom line. They don't and have never cared about you.. and if you don't accept the additional workload, you are looked down upon as not being a team player, and not part of the "family.", and they will 100% eventually build a case to wash their hands of you. There is still a legitimate a sense of pride about how lean and mean the company runs. 6 months into my tenure I was putting in the hours, work for two full-time employees, and repeatedly requested short term contract help which was always denied. Instead, I was saddled supervising spoiled summer students who were more concerned with partying than working. Post below about looking after your health and family is right on. F*** Pembina. This should be the new tagline for the company: Working here just isn't worth it.

Keep airing the dirty laundry of Pembina in a public forum, people. I left the company in 2015 after experiencing and witnessing questionable conduct. The company did not align with my values. Always interesting to read the forum every month or so with a coffee or cold beer seeing how dysfunctional and mismanaged things still are over there in the most regressive corporate culture in midstream Calgary. Knowing the company very well, an anonymous site like this absolutely infuriates them. I suspect high level people and half the workforce read this site. To the staff reading this: MOVE ON!

In my opinion, Pembina celebrates the exploitation of its workforce. From the executive level, useless VPs, HR, down to the worker bees. It is bizarre sense of pride. Slick MD stated in a townhall that "Everyone is putting in more hours now (shrugged his shoulders shook his head and dismissed the question)." (paraphrasing). That mindset trickled down the management chain, and I watched people try to keep up with their suckup managers who have no lives and burn out. I can count on 7 fingers the senior mgrs, managers, and supervisors in my realm who abuse alcohol and dr-gs because of their job. Great culture, Pembina.

Post below: Look after your health and family my friend. I understand it can be scary not having a job, but loosing your health is worse. Best of luck.
