It would be priceless to see the pilot plant guys faces on their last day. See if all your brown nosing, backstabbing and limited skills will work somewhere else. No more steak and lobster for you!

Don't know the first thing about what they do or did at the Barrington office, but looks like enough people chimed in to bring us up to date there. Remember, bottom line is the big company" doesn't care about you or your livelihood and will let you go in a heartbeat. There were probably some people doing a whole lot of nothing and collecting big fat salaries, stock options, and maxing out their T& E budgets. So sorry, not sorry to see people like that gone. I feel for the other souls who are left with nothing but a pitiful severance. The big company is patting themselves on the back for that though.

Unfortunately, with the almost passing of Covid and a recession-like atmosphere, organizations are now looking at their books and slashing people and property from their budgets to keep their hefty salaries. Shame on Pepsi for doing this before/ during the holidays and not offering packages.

There is no accountability at any level of Pepsi management. Decisions are made without regard or consultation with employees with 20, 30, or 40 years with the company. Just disgraceful

Worked there for 8 years. Most toxic workplace ever. My department managers played favorites and gave no praise or promotion ever-unless you were an a-s kisser. Karma does work for once and good riddance. Worst working environment on my resume. I was so happy when I resigned and even happier now that the bu-----t has come to an end. Remember treat people with kindness and not like trash. Full circle finally, getting rid of the a-s kissers.

Will you shop at the Walmart super center once it's built where Barrington R&D center is now?

Good riddance to the service group management = Steve E, Tim H, Todd S, John E. and Mike F. Let's see how your management skills apply in a real company setting where they will see right through your lack of real skills. Enjoy working twice as hard for a third of what you spoiled overpaid a holes where making for doing nothing but pretending to look important. I've waited years for this to happen to you id--ts and i finally got my wish. How does it feel guy's

I worked there way back in early 1980s. I'm surprised it was still open until now. Most unpleasant place to work in. I didn't learn that much as a young engineer except for things I took under my own initiative. Those things I learned on my own really benefited me later in my career. Otherwise, Quaker years were essentially write-offs.

This has been coming for years, Ramon literally set a goal in writing to reduce real estate footprint through “work that works.” How is this shocking to anyone?

PEP will regret laying off our blood sweat and tears that built this juice research facility.

So they are laying off every single R&D employee in Barrington and not offering relocation?

She's lucky she has almost a years notice of being laid-off and has nothing to complain about. I was 1.5 years before retirement and had 30 minutes notice and was walked out and no one cared, but I survived and moved on and am much happier being out of such a toxic environment.

I worked at Barrington for 9 years and resigned last year. I can say for sure that the new CEO does not like juice business therefore the juice jv manifested few weeks ago. Gatorade can be operated from NY whereas Quaker can be done out of Plano, even without a single person from Barrington onboard. That explains Barrington ship was about to doom when Ramon came on board, and it was just a matter of time. Amid all the supply chain challenges, rising labor costs, and decreased focus on slow growth brands, this will turn out to be a right business decision in long run. Feel sorry for folks impacted, a good chance I have worked with them through my 9 years there.

My mom works/ed for this place and just found out yesterday she'll be laid-off June 2022. I've tried looking into the reason why they'd close the entire Barrington facility and not offer relocation to any employees and wow the Pepsi-Co CEO seem like one of the biggest POS on the planet. She's 5< years away from retirement and the best they can do for her is 16weeks servants pay as long as she stays till they close. So heartbreaking. So many families are going to be effected by this, it makes me sick thinking about it.

Don't need R&D when they can't stay in stock on regular products.

Good riddance to all the back stabbing managers and employees that work there. They finally get a taste of what its like to be discarded like trash.

Our team had discussion about this yesterday. No clarity but thinking is the real estate aspect (reducing brick and mortar foot print) is complete BS. Barrington is easily commutable to downtown Chicago especially by Metra. If they cared about employees they’d take everyone to the OPO. Instead it’s just another excuse to wreck families right before the holidays. This company is as low as it gets in large corporate America. Where did they find the corporate snakes who run this place?
