Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

GET OUT

Recently switched jobs. I hated working at pepsico (r&d) so much that I completely changed sectors, and let me tell you… I am so much more content and happy with what I’m doing on a daily basis. Tasks are clearer, expectations are clear, and there’s 95% less bu-----t being fed to each other.

It can be done. The Great Resignation is upon us. Study up, prepare, and get a different job. It will be so much better for your mental health

I would agree. Take the severance people, engage with local companies. There’s no point moving down, another axing will come up in 18 months or less.

This place is a resume builder only. Anyone who thinks or plans on making this a long term engagement is a fool. You will sink deeper and deeper into the putrid quicksand of an organization that has nearly zero respect for its employees and focuses only on fattening their already obese profits. While no place is without its faults, there are far more lucrative and decent ventures out there. Find it. I know I will and hopefully will soon.

I salute you for escaping this pit and agree that there is nowhere to go but up once freed from this corporate tyranny. Made the mistake of turning down an external lateral offer last summer. Will not make that mistake again.

I feel sad for those who served Pepsico for decades knowing that they are underpaid and probably underutilized too. I received 80% increase in pay (including bonus) and I'm glad I made that move after 8 years at Pepsico. Life is better outside plus Pepsico tag on your resume will serve you well for the rest of your career.
