My store has a new hire who acts like she has worked for the company for 20 years. We also have a new hire manager who said she will be CEO of Belk one day. Talk about delusional. Batshit crazy.

They have run off some old associates, more are soon to be on their way out, especially after they found out new hires make more them.
A young man is at a retail job interview.
Interviewer: Well, to start out in the beginning, you will be at a $11.50/Hour, but later after six months that number could go up to $15.00/Hour or even $18.00/Hour!
Young man: Ok, I'll come back later then after six months!
It looks like they hired anything that came thru the door.
Belk is gasping its last, like that puffer fish: ÆÜGH
They're taking a page from the Big Lots playbook - BL wants, as per the memo, 16-year-old part-timers to work the bare minimum wage and cover stock and the register, only 1 full-time manager of a younger set (19-24 preferably) to make sure trucks get unloaded and to wrangle the kids to make it happen.
BL even has a push, now, to pay people by the day. Yep. That's how transient they expect workers to be, as they are paid so little to begin with. You login to the system at the end of the shift and click to transfer the day's very little pay to your account.
Live big! Save lots! Make very little!
Yes, store managers have been instructed to “hire, hire, hire” anything that walks into the door, and I mean anything!
